I was talking to Mr Lucky today and we discussed about challenging another rez in a contest. We came up with the idea that if each rez nominated their 10 top horses and raced on a saturday. Points would be awarded on a 1-2-3 placings and the rez with the most points would be crowned the winner. Losing rez would have to transfer a set amount of credit to the winning rez. Please post your feedbacks here on whether you would be intrested in entering a horse and how many credit you think we should use for the challenge.
I am sure that I would be able to find another rez to take up the challenge.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts,
Teddy ;D

I like the idea, as long as restricted races are prohibited. I would also leave out claiming, maiden, and starter races, leaving just allowance and stakes calibre horses to duke it out. At least then you would really be competing against each other with the best of the best.

I like the idea and agree with tpacer about restricting race types (Some might throw a allowance type in for a tag to get the cheap win), but I would also restrict size off the field. In order to count you would have to enter a race with at least 8 horses in the field, that would even the playing field even greater.

I don't like the fact of just allowance and stake horses....but do like the field of a min of 8.

Have never been in one but support the challenge. As far as limiting to only allowances and stakes that is okay for top stables and I for one have quite a few who could go well however there are a lot of stables that don't have those quality horses at present so we may have to include other type races.

Mr. Lucky and Bigkev Make good points about not restricting class of race so that more can get involved and Im all for that. However it is a contest and people will drop horses in class for the good off the residency. So how about to be allowed you must enter a field off 8 or greater and off the same type or higher class as last run. That way a stakes horse entered could not run a allowance but a good claimer could step up to starter and be ok. This would make a claiming horse that wins alot at a lesser speed more attractive than a stakes horse who cant hit the board at a much greater speed hence more types off trainers could take part yet you would not have to worry about horses running a class down from normal.

I don't think peopel will really drop their horses into claimers just to get a win for credits for a residency. I was thinking 300 credits to the winner.

I have talked to Johnno at Minnesoata to see what he thinks of this challenge idea as they usually do challenges differently by sponsoring several races and having the horses from both rez's compete against each other in the same races. When he get's back to me I will post what he said. I don't want to limit it to top allowance and stakes races as I want everyone to be able to take part and not everyone has the top calibre horses yet. (Me included as I have only been playing since January and have been going the claiming route so far and am now just starting to breed horses) I will post when i get some responses from other rez's. But I see we do have some interest in this on our side.
Thanks Teddy ;D

If you are worried about people dropping horses in class, you could put a *cpu restriction on the races. That would help prevent drastic class droppers. Of course, you can play games with the cpu value of a horse, but it may be worth considering.

I have to wait for Minnesota to finish with their Kentucky challenge then I will try to put something together for a challenge against them. Then again, Delta has her Alpine Rez, maybe they would be interested in some sort of challenge? Teddy

You want to challenge us? Egads, I can't figure out how we would present any kind of challenge. Half our members are new players, and half of the experienced players started new stables for the residency. I guess if you're looking for some sort of maiden claimers challenge, we might meet on equal footing there.
