I really liked the BP contest that we had this year. I'm looking forward for another great year in this residency for next year. What are some suggestions that everyone has for contests next year. Should we do a breed a 3 year old this year and race them next year? Should we do a claiming contest? Should we keep the trainer contest? Let's hear some suggestions.
I will use everyone suggestions for next year. Put down a contest you would like and we'll do it.

For the 4yo contest.
Compile a list of sires. Say 20-40 sires. All of these normally can be had for 100-200 credits by the end of the week. Entrants must choose their sire from this list. The DS and DDS can be any horse or from retired mares. Must be bred this year and left unraced until 2006. Then award points based on the performance of each horse in 2006. win is say 5 points, place 3, show 1. Allowance and MSW x 2 award. Stakes x3. Graded x5.

I saw this contest at GSR in 2004. Liked it so much I joined in order to play. Then when they ran it again I forgot al about playing it until 3 weeks went by. Anyway it was something like this:
Entrants choose which stables they will use. Lets say 2 stables may be used by each member. Contest runs 6 weeks. Each week you post which category of race and the horse running. MSW, MC, ALW, starter, etc. Then the speed rating is recorded. Or it could be order of finish. Each category can only be used once. I may use my MSW this week but you might use your MCL slot. After 6 weeks everyone will have used up all 6 categories and you find your winner.
This could also work using teams.

I like the team contest idea. We make teams of two residents and have a bracket contest like last time except now you have two stables together against another team. We could run it say for 6 months and have a schedule like say there are 6 teams in week one team one would play team two and team three would play team four etc and the top two teams after the regular season would play for the rez team championship. To make it fair you could limit the number of horse started by each team each week so as the same number of starters would be run so the possible point accumulation would be equal.
Just a thought
