Need suggestions on next trainer contest

I have built a program to simplify the trainer contest so I don't to spend 2+ hours gathering the info.

I would like to get some suggestions on how to make it more competitive.

Should I give points for 4th = 2 points and 5th = 1 point?

I'm just a bit curious.

Let's hear some suggestions so I can get everything set up for next week.

The one option I don't want to do is average, since someone might just run 2 or 3 horses for the enitire contest and they win every race.....we need to race as many horses as we can so we can get as many BP's as possible for credits for the residency.

I don't see how you can make it more fair. The stables that have the best results are going finish near the top. if your stable is slumping or not doing well then you have no chance. The idea is to try to have good results and that should be rewarded.

Right now the Tpacer stables are dominant, but 2nd and 3rd place are still pretty competetive as we will have different winners then last time.

One idea I have would be to spread the winners down to 5th place instead of 3rd. This would greatly increase the number of members who still have a chance to finish in the money down to the final week. The breakdown could be something like 40%, 30%, 15%, 10%, 5%. I think right now it is 55%,33%,11%

Another idea would be to allow races from all tracks and not just North America. However, NA runners could receive a bonus point or 2 or 3 just for running at rez tracks in addition to the normal award for finishing ITM.

Another idea would be to award bonus points each week associated with message board activity. Any kind of post would get you a point for each of your stables each week. maybe limit that to 1, 2, or 3 bonus points a week.

I like both of the stated ideas. Give prizes up to 5th place as we are now receiving more credits and can spread the prizes around a little.
I also believe we should allow races from all tracks in with a bonus if the result was at a NAR track but i don't know how complicated that would be for you to score Bill.

I'll make it so top 5 DIFFERENT trainers will win credits.

I really don't want to include all tracks, we are called North American Racing so that's why I just want to use those tracks.

I also think all tracks should be counted. I like the idea of bonus points for top 3 finishes at the NA tracks. I really think that limiting tracks hurts certain horses and trainers, especially those that run alot of turf horses. if you have turf runners you oftern can't find races except in Europe.

I do agree with the to 5 & point structure.

well, maybe down the road I can do the bonus modifier but I won't be able to write the program this week so it will stay as it is for now. thanks
