I just ran my second race with Lucky's BrookLynn. # 27021. She is a very well bred filly, This was her second win in her second race....Her first race, she ran a 66 on fast dirt, today, she only ran a 52 on fast dirt. There were only 4 horses in the race and the other 3 were computer horses....should I be worried about her dismal performance? She also came up sharp this week as well, that's why I ran her

The question is did she have a dismall performance or did she do just enough to win the race. Sometimes the good ones know what they have to do to win and do just that amount to get to the wire first. I really do not know what you expected to find out from that race as there was obviously no competition but you took an easy win for the money and bp. If you want to find out how good she is you will probably have to have her run against better to see if she has the stuff to beat them. All in all though better to be 2 for 2 then 0 for 2.

She only ran as fast as she had to to win the race. She may be capable of running much faster than that, but she didn't have to so why should she?
If you want to find out what she's capable of, you could look for a tougher spot next time out and see how she can handle the competition. Since she now has an allowance win, she'll get priority getting into stakes races, so that's something to consider.
Personally, I'd keep looking for soft spots for her, but I'm pretty slow to put a horse into stakes races and would demand at least one more allowance win against difficult comptition before I considered a stakes.
Congratulations on your filly! 2 for 2 is a great start!

I agree with Delta- especially with 2Yr olds and 3Yr olds. Unless they look like monsters i'd take it slow.
I have had at least one really good run from a 2Yr old last year and I uppped him to fast- he's only now after 6 races getting to where i thought he should have been (if that makes sense), because i rushed him into a stakes after his first time up MSW win.
