New Contests

With the bracket contest starting in 2 weeks, and the trainer contest is over in week 2524, I have came up with a couple more contests, please let me know what everyone thinks.

Since, Tpacer is running away with this trainer contest(damm, he's got some nice horses ;D ) We will start another trainer contest after this one within a week or 2.

Since, it seems like my horses always break their leggs when they are running backwards down the track, I figured that we would have a contest where you earn points for finishing out the money, 6th place. Something different, what do you think?

I also think we should have a bargain bred 2 year old contest. I say the sire should be out of someone like Gone West or Seattle Slew and then have a race or 2 with these horses, I don't know for sure about this one but give me some ideas.

The last one that I thought of and I like the most, each resident brings in a brand new stable, starting week 2531, they try to gain the most BP's and by the end of the year, winner gets 1000 credits, 2 gets 500 and 3 gets 100 credits. I think this would be fun, starting off from scratch and seeing what we can do.

The residency is getting 80 credits per week, so until we start getting 200+ credits per week, the prizes will be low, sorry Sorry.

Give me some suggestions, and we will do them.

2yo contest sounds good. I would say either limit the number of points spent or specify a range of sires to use. But not both. Also, why not 3yo?

A few other clubs break the trainer contest into divisions. Then after each period or season the top and bottom 3-5 in each division moves up or down to the next higher or lower division. I think we have enough members to have 2 or more divisions. This way more stables would be up against more similar competition. The prizes may have to be smaller, but I think more people are in for the fun of competing rather then a few credits more or less.

I like the scratch stable idea. Right now I am at my limit of 4 stables though.

I like the new stable contest idea.

Another contest i have been thinking off is called the TRAVEL NORTH AMERICA CONTEST. You would post a horse to enter in the contest and the first horse to get 5 wins would win. Ahhhh, but the wins must be from 5 different NORTH AMERICAN regions. 1 from Canada, 1 from Mexico, 1 from USA pacific time zone, 1 from USA mountain/central time zone and 1 from USA eastern time zone.

I was thinking, once we had enough credits to buy the races, that we should have a NAR Triple Crown. Same distances as the regular triple crown, only for NAR horses only.

I like this idea....let's hopefully start getting some more credits and we'll do this. Thanks for the idea.

I like the new stable contest idea alot, it would be a very good contest with all residents starting on equal footing.
The BB contest and triple crown sound like fun as well.

I had another Idea for the 2 year old contest:

We could limit the sires only allowing sires with less than say, 10 runners in the sim( this can be checked on new stats page ) Please post if you like this idea, we can set a range of weeks to run them in and give prizes for the top 3 speed ratings, or money earned, lots of possibilities!!
