We should try to start up a head to head contest with the residents. Each resident assign a claiming horse to the contest. We draw lots and create a contest schedule similar to the NCAA tournament board. When you are scheduled to meet the other trainer you mutually enter the same race and whichever horse finishes ahead of the other wins and advances to the next round. You can make it a single knockout, double knockout or whatever. Please post if you like this idea or can think of something similar where we are competing against each other head to head.
Just my little pea brain idea that popped into my head.
thanks Teddy ;D

We did something similar to this over at GPR. I like the idea, but what we did is whichever trainer accumulated the most trainer points that week won the head to head matchup. Since you can bring in as many stables as you want here, you'd have to put a cap on it, I'd say maybe make the resident pick one stable to use for that week.
It wasn't a tournament, it was just whoever had the most points at the end, but I like your idea. I say go with it.

OK, after the auction contest is over, we'll have this contest. Each stable will be entered and will race againt another stable. Total points for that stable going down to 5th place.
1st place = 5 points 2nd place = 4 points 3rd place = 3 points 4th place = 2 points 5th place = 1 point
Each stable will run a predetermined week with having only 2 weeks off. Single elimination. This is going to be pretty hard to track so I'll have to come up with some kind of bracket system. If there is a tie for that week for a matchup, it will be determined by average place per starter, so if you only have 1 starter and he wins, then average place is first. If you have 2 starters and they get a 2nd and 3rd, then the stable with the 1st place will win for that week. I don't know what prizes will be just yet. This contest will take a very long time. Should I go with 2 weeks off or just 1 week? Let's all do some brainstorming but this will start in the early weeks of 2517 or somewhere in there.

Id go with 2 weeks off. That's time for most claimers to rest, and if you have horses in your stables you should have runners every 2 weeks.
