OK, After I look at Yoss and figure out how to track everyone's stables on finishes with their horses, this is what I have been thinking on a contest. I'm not sure what we will give as a prize yet but since some people have different amounts of stables, should I run the contest as average place per horse or have a breakdown on say 1st place gets 5, 2nd, 3 and 3rd, gets 1 point? Or should we run it as average place no matter how many stables you have to make it more fair to people that only have 1 stable? Please give me some advice on what you would like to see? I think that we will use all north american races.

i agree with including all the north american tracks and i think you should use the average placing because of the fact of some people only having one stable in the residency. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I agree to make it fair for everybody I believe you have to go with the average.

Either make it the average place, or score each stable independently. Several residencies do the latter, and it seems to work well.

I have been a member of DelPenn with most of my stables since 1999. Guess that sort of makes me an ol' timer so to speak. Anyway, we have always had each stable count towards the training races and contest. It has worked well for 6 years. Not that this site needs to be the same but that's something that is time tested and has worked very good. I think that you will find something like 10 points for a win,5 for 2nd, and 3 for 3rd works really well. Those are just my thoughts.

That's not a bad idea as well. This residency needs to get a little more support so I can come up with some prizes in credits before we start. I say we make this a 10 week competition and probably start in a week or 2.

Sounds good. Maybe quarterly.
