Very nice...now here is the question, since I have been in the game for about 3 years now and I'm starting to have some very nice mares to breed, do you scratch breed or breed from retired mares mostly?

Bill... when you breed to retired mares you cannot designate the sex so I do scratch breeds and pay the extra 500 for a filly when trying to build up my breeding stock. I like to breed at least 5 of these a year. Can't afford many more than that using credits and this year, at least, I won't have the BP's. I also use retired mares but then, like I said, I get what I get... sexwise. Of course, the best of all worlds is to use a "current" mare in a breeding... cheapest of all. When using good running mares with good pedigree... always use a very good sire and one that may also be a very good bloodmare sire too. The best to the best... Larry

That's a lot of breeding for early 2008! Nice work Larry. I don't usually designate sex when breeding but I may do a little more of this in the future, especially when breeding 3 YO's. I always find myself rooting for Fillys on Sunday!
BTW, I've had some good success with Agnes World and Strike The Gold.

Thanks zman... Actually I have always bred quite a lot each year... starting early and ending up with around a hundred or more breedings by years end. I had hoped to curb some of that this year... but here I am again... Keep checking my link above for any new weekly additions... there is bound to be some... And please continue to post any of yours that you may do... always love to see what others are doing... and good luck! Larry

Bred 2 this week so far: Ghostzapper Kingmambo We'll see how they go. I love turf runners, but everytime I try to breed one, I get one that loves the dirt.
