Does anyone know if it is better to breed in early January, as opposed to any other time? My hunch is that it does, although the entire world does not age their horses on January 1.

It would depend a lot on the type of horse you are looking for if you are chasing thr bb than early however if you are looking for a router than you would probably breed later

In the sim, all horses' birthdays are on Jan. 1, the North American rules (Makes sense, considering Mike, the dude that runs this game lives practically in the shadow of Churchill Downs' twin spires).
2yo's can't be bred until mid-February in the sim. This timetable is always announced well ahead of time every year on the message boards. Last year, Mike also had a sticky posted due to changes in the ratings of many sim-sires due to over or underestimating their eventual real-life sire performances. Keep an eye out for anything on the boards...
