Well last week was open season for the mares available to everyone and as I am not one to let a breeding opportunity go by here is what I ended up with.
Breakfast Creek. Another Zabeel in my Ausracing stable. The mare has been a pretty good producer and I have had some luck with Zabeel X Danehill so hopefully Danzig can do something similar.
Pinjarra. My favourite sire Dayjur to a Storm Cat mare. He has produced most of his graded runners to Strom Cat and the mare already has one graded winner to her name so hopefully this guy can continue the trend.
Scarborough. Bred on a similar cross to my champ Sip of Saki. The mare was a top racehorse on the grass so hopefully the Sakhee cross will produce a nice turf runner.
Blue Era. Dehere has been killing them with Forty Niner mares, hopefully there is room for another.
Pretty happy with the four horses we ended up with, time will tell I guess.
And to add to the breeding frenzy Bigkev is staying with me this week and we were pottering around the site today and realised that breeding would be opening about 2am in the US. We quickly decided to put some credits in and I sure am glad we did.
Bigkev got a Dynaformer X Woodman X Irish River and I bred Ghostzapper to a Mineshaft X Storm Cat mare I had. I couldnt believe the sires that were still available after we had finished - Storm Cat, Kingmambo, Sadlers Wells, Deputy Minister, Unbridled's Song ..........they were all still there.
If only I had room in the stables for some more. ;D
