Just wondering what budding 2yo champs we have in the residency. I would be really interested to hear of the 2yos people have, their hopes for them and what they have done so far.
So who is your best 2yo so far, who do you think will develop into a good horse and is anyone aiming at the Breeders Bowl races yet? ;D

well i have both relaunch the gold and goerge strait the horse who destroyed his compition by four lengths yesterday. goeorge strait will race in the tiny toes then the high flyer both are at a mile. relaunch the gold's last race was disappointing since he ran forth in a allowance so i dont know where hes going next.

I saw that guy in your stable last night MrLucky, he is one of the reasons I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone had. He looks awesome and has the breeding to be anything, let us know how he goes when you step him up. I have been lucky enough to have a few stakes winners this year and these are my better ones so far. First Buzzard - looked awesome in her first 2 runs then gutted me last time out. Not sure whether to just overlook that run or what. I am in 2 minds whether to give her another sprint, step her up to 8 or try the grass. Let me know if you have any suggestions, I am probably leaning to running her in a grade 2 over 6.5 in 3308 but I am really not sure. Wivenhoe - this filly is looking like my miler and the one I am hoping to run in the breeders. She is running this week in a Gr2 over 6.5 so I will know more come Saturday. Awesome Nugget - I dont think he is going to be a champion but he is looking like a very handy sprinter that should pick up his fair share of stakes races. Swiftsure - after starting a bit later than the others this guy could end up being the best of the lot. Really stepped up to the plate last time out and he is out of my Gr 1 winning mare Vangaurd so he is a real sentimental favourite for me. Hopefully a few of these will kick on and avoid the 2yo let down. It has been a pretty good year to date for me. Over my 5 stables I have bred 19 2yo's with 8 of them breaking their maidens, 2 stakes winners, 1 graded winner and 1 graded placed. They have raced 50 times, finishing in the top 3 26 times and winning 11 races. (I keep an Excel spreadsheet of my 2yos) Hope to hear of a few more 2yo stars we have stabled in Ohio. ;D

Just bred one tonight in my Bjbandit stable. Montjeu X Kingmambo X Mill Reef. Cost me 726bps including 50 for not breeding over a horse so I think that was pretty cheap. Hopefully an English Derby runner in the making.

That's what I want, turf routers...they are so hard to breed. Good luck on that baby.

Hey bj you must have all 2 year olds in your stables the way you are churning them out. A por old vet like me can't afford to keep up with all you young turks. ;D
