What has everybody bred so far this year... 2yr olds?... 3yr olds? Any winners yet? What freshmen sires have you used? The curious and those wishing to learn (like me) would like to know... Larry

Have got back onto the breeding wagon this year after an enforced quieter year last year. Have spread the sires around quite a bit, fairly evenly between turf and dirt. Being in Australia the sire opening times are hard to get (usually on a Monday when we are at work) but have still managed to snare some nice ones. Here are the better performed ones so far. (Have bred 32 across 14 stables) First BuzzardThis is a half sister to my very good horse Sip of Saki so I have high hopes for her and she was very impressive on debut Awesome NuggetReally happy with this bloke's debut on the dirt, well bred and hopefully goes on with it. WarriegoLove the way this bloke stormed home to win on the grass. Bred to run at least a mile I am looking forward to the longer 2yo races later in the year. This broodmare is looking pretty smart. Boom GateI have had a lot of luck with Rainbow Quest, winning a 2000 guineas 2 years ago, hopefully this bloke will head in that direction. Looks like a mile should be right up his alley Scrum HalfHave bred a couple of Pivotal's this year afte Mike said he gave him a boost. Always seems to be available later in the week. This bloke is the best so far and is extremely well bred from another broodmare that I like. Minister of WarDidnt really run time on debut but got the job done. Bred to be a good horse, next time will tell me more. FirebrandJust missed out on debut but ran time and is out of a good mare that threw a nice horse last year. Should be up to allowance level at least, hopefully stakes. Thats the better ones, have a few that ran well on debut without winning but should enjoy it further. Still have some to breed this year so hopefully we can snare a couple of more winners and maybe a Breeders Bowl runner. Last year was the first time in 4 years we didnt get a runner in on Bowl day so that is the goal this year. Will definitely have 1 maybe 2 or 3 older horses there so to get a 2yo runner as well would make a great year. Does anyone else have some promising 2yo's and what aspirations for the year do you have for them?

Very nice looking bluebloods Kev... WTG! I only breed a very few bluebloods each year... something to do with my limited "retired" pension and, therefore, tight budget... ;D I have managed 8 wins though thus far with my 2yr old crop... BLUEBALL, # 136275 DIVINE STORM, # 136667 FORGED BY FAITH, # 136662 OUTTA THE DARKNESS, # 136315 PLAIN AND SIMPLE, # 136202 PREPARE TO WORSHIP, # 135927 PROCLAIM THE TRUTH, # 136147 RANGER'S RING (my best), # 57080 two others that are knocking on the door... FINALLY IRISH, # 38782 MONT ALLURE, # 47433 The PA (state tagged) horses are from my PA stables (part of DelPenn residency) Since I haved joined DelPenn and now Ohio, I like to breed at least a few horses using state tagged sires. I just did one today for Ohio... [glow=red,2,300]General Mills[/glow]... Mercer Mill/General Meeting/Chief's Crown... 196 points Larry

Simply for the pure fun of it...I created two more Ohio state tagged 2yr olds... [glow=red,2,300]LOGAN ELM[/glow]... Academy Award/Dehere/Alysheba... 242 points [glow=red,2,300]HANBY HOUSE[/glow] (if a colt) or [glow=red,2,300]NELLIE GRAY[/glow] (if a filly)... King Tutta/Alysheba/Dehere... 177 points That will be it for the Ohio state tagged for awhile at least. Time to save up some BP's for some monster horses for the Ohio residency and that will take awhile... Has anybody tried to breed any using Ohio state tagged up to this point? Larry

I havent even thought of breeding an Ohio tagged horse. Is there an easy way to filter the sires? Sounds like a great idea for a contest. Funny you had Dehere in there as a Dam Sire. I bred one last week to my former top mare Vanguard using Dehere. Swiftsure. He had a great year last year with the top 2yo colt and seems to cross well with Forty Niner.

Bigkev... You can filter the sires by clicking the link for breeding... then click horse ticker... then for location, use Ohio and for age use can breed 2yr olds. Larry

hey one good breeding cros that i think is pollard's vision x stadler x nijinsky II. i dont own the horse. i just bred and raced him once and sold him for 4.6 million as of right now he has three wins once on the turf two on dirt and three seconds in seven starts ran fifth in a stakes race then came back to win at 11 furlongs in his most recent start. he only raced once as a two yr old finishing second.
