I also am curious. Not from Ohio myself, although I drove through it a few times using mostly back highways over 20 years ago. The thing I remember most is the ads painted on barns and other farm buildings. Gasoline company named SOHIO. Power of advertising.

Born in Newark Oh grew up on the banks of Buckeye Lake in the villaeg of Millersport stuck halfway between Newark and Lancaster. Currently residing in Abilene Texas because the military brought me here and my wife kept me here. I have titled myself the displaced Ohioan currently residing in the Lame Star State.
