Kentucky Derby 2006

If you are like me you would love to have a horse in the bluegrass derby on Kentucky derby day. Now I have played this game for many years and have never had a horse good enough with enough stakes points to make the cut. This year I have one hopeful as off now but I know he is still a long shot to make it his ranking is 46 as off now with 3 or 4 races until derby day to decide his faith.
I then said to myself that I want to buy a grade 1 (500,000) 3yr old race on the same day at the same distance that way at least I would be entered in a big race that day ;D
It would cost 4000 credits Well I could spend the forty bucks to do this but honestly it just doesn't seem worth it to me so I scraped the idea
Today it came to me that maybe others would want to guarantee that they would be part off a special race on a very special day also but also would not want to spend 4000 credits.
So here it is I will throw this out to you guys to see how much interest there is. I offer the race and the fee to enter your horse in the race is 200 points that would cover the race. I will cover the extra 500 points to password protect the race, so really you can buy an entry into a grade1 derby day race for $2
I would leave it a NAR event if we could fill all 20 spots if not I would go to the main message board to fill the spots. I will also run the same race at my other residency and the same would apply but I want to know if there would be interest in doing this how many think they would spend the 200 credits to have a horse off there in the race?
Post here if your interested and we can go on from there we have plenty off time but I would want to get this organized sometime in January.

Unfortunately, I won't have any horses for the Kentucky Derby since every horse that I bred as a 2 year old, they are all blue bloods so I paid for to make them a female, down the road it will help me.

As far as the race, I don't know if lucky's brook lynn will improve to make the derby or not, still undecided about that.

As far as the race, I'm sure this rez will throw in some credits to make it happen if we can get the 20 horses.

I just found out that you can not password protect a graded race so it would have to be ungraded which knocks the cost down a bit to 2500 plus 500 to password protect. It would still be a 500000 purse so if we went ahead then 100 points per entry would be enoygh I would cover the rest.

ps Lucky's Brook Lynn is as strong as any male 2 yr old right now, lets hope she is on the first Saturday of May also.

Do you think she can compete the boys and how many stake points will she need? Right now, she has 82 in sprint and 20 in classic. How many furlongs is the derby? Her next race will be 8F.

Yes i do the race is 10 furlongs so it is good that your stretching her out a bit. The way I see it you will have 3 or 4 prep races which I would go against females upping the distance each time making sure they are graded races. If you do as good as i think you will that will be enough to get you in. Sprints will not help you from here on, if you want that derby shot. keep in mind this filly id# 88886 she came in second in last years bluegrass, and she went a similar route. The breeding on your filly suggest that 10 furlongs is well within her potential. Good luck on what should be a very exciting time for you and your young champion.

don't forget the major filly races prior to the derby
