Equinics 2008 Update
Here is Zman's charity:
The Harold Wrightington Trust
Zman, would you write something up please?
Anyone else interested in writing an article as I'm not a good writer?
Thank you for your participation in, and support of, the 2008
version of the Equinics.
My thanks also go to all other track coordinators; Snowchief,
and Roys for their ongoing BTB support; and Winterheart, for
again taking on the coordination of the Equinics Diaries.
Charity Names:
We have started gathering names of charities that track managers
have forwarded to us (I heard that Sabalou sent us the
International Red Cross, but I have not received an email from
him).
The charities we have to date are:
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
The Ace Bailey Children's Foundation
The ASPCA
The Starlight Foundation
The Make A Wish Foundation
Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research
The International Red Cross (?)
Race names will be based on your charity names (whatever we can
make fit on the banner) so we would appreciate it if you could
send us your name as soon as possible. The race names on the
link below will link to a charity page, if you have any links to
your charity that would be appreciated as well.
The Race names are located at this link:
www.pasturesofgreen.com/equinics/2008/Races08.html
Races:
Just a reminder that you determine eligibilty for a given player
to represent your track.
Each track can enter one horse per race (but you do not have to
enter each race).
We require your entries by the end of week 3658 (26 July 2008).
It is easiest for us if you provide the names by the race
conditions (ie: 4+ M 16 D #12222 Thishorseisnotreal).
Race passwords will be provided on the applicable race link.
We will be as flexible as possible, so if you have a change in
your entry let us know as soon as possible. Horses not on the
race page will be removed by Mike.
Sponsors:
Thanks to those who have donated credits. It is appreciated.
Some residencies have indicated that they will be adding
donations - if you want that donation to reflect your residency
please let me know (ie. Ldyssecret sends 1000 credits and asks
me to record it as a Pastures Of Green donation).
We buy races at 2500 credits, and Mike bumps some of the purses
up. He further supports the Equinics by making a credit donation
which we return in full as prize money for the top 5 residencies
and winners of any Equinics associated contests.
Diary:
The Diary concept is that the Equinics Torch moves from
residency to residency.
The Equinics Diary provides participants an opportunity to write
something about their residency/residents/location.
It can be whatever you want it to be. In the past, some have
been strictly logical and geographical (took the torch from
point A to point B and passed it on), while others have spun
tales of humour, mystery, or intrigue.
Whatever works for you works for me.
The Equinics Torch Lighting Ceremony takes place June 8th, and
the first diary entry should appear shortly after.
It is a little late to nail down a timeline and we will be doing
2 to 3 diary entries a week to play catch-up.
The Diary entries are independent, so as long as you know who
you are getting it from, and who you are giving it to, that
should provide for an adequate transition.
Please email your diary entries to Winterheart at
winter@winterheart.com
and cc us at pasturesofgreen@yahoo.com
