I would go ahead and breed her now and pay the extra 250, but that is me.

Can you expound upon that please. I guess I am wondering even how to do this. Why is there an advantage to doing it now and paying the extra 250? Is the mare really worth it?

Please forgive me but I am dense when it comes to the breeding stuff.

Any idea of some sires that would be good to breed her to.

Do I eliminate her and then check the box "Use Eliminated Horse"
Is it a one and done deal or can I breed her to other sires?

There appears to be so much more to this than what the FAQ provides.

I usually wait until mares like this are 5 to breed. If the offspring turns out to be a dud, then I probably would not breed to her again.
If you breed to her now, it will cost you 250 more bps or credits then if you wait until she is 5. The upside to that is if the baby is good, you can breed to her again when she turns 5 (and every year after).
A lot of it comes down to personal preference.

BTW, one of my best 3 year olds was bred from a mare that had a terrible track record, so you never know.

As for sires, I would send her to a son of Danzig - maybe Dayjur or War Chant.

Allright. We are giving it a try. 563 to breed out right. 524 to breed to own mare. 250 point penalty made this a little high. Oh well here is to the Ole College Try.
