Lucky's CapitalThis was supposed to be my "turf" pony last year but just didn't do much on it. He has been amazing on the dirt with winning the G2 this week at 9.5 furlongs. He's 10th now in the division and I don't know what to do. Should I rest him for 6+ weeks? I want him in the derby so bad right now and I think I can get him there but do I run him in a stakes race or a graded next time out? I'm so lost on what to do, never had a chance at the derby before, (granted, I have been playing 2 years now) but I really need a lot of advice. Thanks.

The draw in procedure is a little different this year. Win one of these prep races to lock an entry in the derby. This new rule allows some more deserving horses of today get the nod over horses run to the ground as 2 year olds who may have more stakes points.
That aside MrLucky, you should try to fit graded races in your schedule if not these prep races. These prep races may draw extra attention which could leave a good chance on other Graded races running on the same or similar weeks.
