G3 Rantofan Handicap Race Preview by ladofmanor on Friday, February 02, 2007 at 5:23:19 PM PP#7 - CAROLINA QUICKSTEP(JPN) – Forty Niner X Sadler’s Wells X A.P. Indy (1i2) 11/1 Has won over $110,000 in 9 races for 4 wins and 2 places that include 3 ungraded stakes wins. This colt raced very well on turf to take those 3 ungraded wins, however in his last 2 starts as a 2yo he was put on dirt only to be flogged both times by a average of 14.5 lengths. This will be his first run as a 3yo after a 6 week break and thankfully it is back on turf. He will however have to find some zip to compete with Roquefort as his highest SP is a 87. His racing pattern is from around mid-field and looks as if he could run near the money. Ah well. The experts dont like my chances. neither do I . Still looking for a decent finish in a graded race.

Thanks. And holy smokes he won the thing! I am pretty sure none of mine have ever won a graded stakes before. Carolina Quickstep2 others responded well to a surface switch to turf and won a MSW and NW2L ALW And a CPU alowance win too. All the wins coming in large fields. I had 2 4-horse races and those entries each got me 4th place money Jim
